One Word, One Motto
Words have power. Even just one word can have impact on a person, a situation or a year. It happened to me one New Year’s Eve about 6 years ago when I decided to choose a word, just one, to keep in my heart and mind for the next year. I’ve picked a One Word every year since.
I take my time choosing my One Word. It seems when the time is right a unique word pops into my mind, and I know that’s the one I’ll need to carry with me for the next 12 months. And I do.
Greeting Cards
I’m not very good at sending cards to people. I enjoy buying them, searching the racks, to find the one that says the perfect sentiment. I have drawers full of all kinds of greeting and birthday cards waiting to be sent. That is where things break down. I am good at buying cards for people, bad at sending them.
To Knit or Read? That is the Dilemma!
I haven't knit very much this week. I should, my baskets are over flowing with unfinished projects. However, I'm hooked on the book I started reading last week. Except for audio books, it's impossible to read and knit at the same time. Doing so is a lot like knitting in the bathtub. That doesn't work out well, don't try it.
Middle of the Night Prayer
I'm having one of those nights. I fell asleep anticipating a long night of rest ahead but now find myself wide awake in the middle of the night. Seems I slept well for only a few hours and here I am. After staring at the dark for an hour, I decided to give in and see what thoughts are rumbling around in my brain.

The Hidden Paradise of Waiting rooms
I find myself this morning in a knitter's paradise, a doctor's waiting room. I'm parked in a nice corner, back row armchair next to an end table. The light is good. I've filled out the necessary paperwork and anticipate a long lovely time of waiting for my make to be called. I've brought a ribbon yarn triangle shawl to work on and have settled in nicely.
