Remember the Small Things

Remember the Small Things

I find myself a back seat passenger in my car.  For the last 10 years, since my husband passed away, I’ve been the driver. I’ve gotten used driving now, out of necessity.  Before, George always drove.  I loved being the passenger.  I could look around, discuss interesting observations, knit, read, and enjoy the easy company of sitting next to my husband for six or seven hours.

Help! Its Hallmark Movie Season!

Help! Its Hallmark Movie Season!

I’ve had my fill of holiday made for TV movies.  The Hallmark channel can rest until next December, as far as I’m concerned.  This month has 18 days left of non-stop Christmas time romance and I can’t take it.  I know I could change the channel, there are plenty of offerings on Netflix to keep me glued to the couch.  But, something happens to my TV remote and the next thing I know, I’m watching the same holiday Hallmark movie I’ve seen 6 times already.  What’s wrong with me?

Do What Fuels Your Passion

Do What Fuels Your Passion

I received a Christmas present in the mail today, a real surprise since the holiday was months ago.   My daughter who lives now in Colorado Springs signed me up for a most interesting publication.  It’s called, Life & Thyme Culinary Story Telling.  It is a 119 page bound publication, published quarterly.  I have received my second copy.

How Pasta Reflects Your Life

How Pasta Reflects Your Life

I took a pasta making class on Sunday.  We made Cheese Tortellini Pasta with Roasted Cauliflower, Bacon and Sage and Pappardelle Pasta with Kale, Italian Sausage and Arrabbiata Sauce.

The thing I like about cooking is the creative mix of ingredients that come together into the most delicious eats.

How To Say Yes (To The Dress)

How To Say Yes (To The Dress)

It happened last weekend. We had only one day to do it, and the choice was made.  My daughter flew into town to find a wedding dress for her May wedding.  This is always a risky endeavor, especially when the bride lives in Colorado, the mom in Kentucky and the wedding is in North Carolina.

How Thinking "Small" Gets Big Things Done

How Thinking "Small" Gets Big Things Done

Every day slides on top of the next so quickly it is hard to know where we are headed

I wake each day with my mind full of plans and projects I must work on, but the reality is, small steps are the most difficult.  It is easy to dream big and far into the future to wish and hope for things to be just so, however, it’s the everyday decisions and circumstances we step through that add up to make up our years.
